Child safety
This page sets out our policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation. It is short, because there is only one rule to explain: this content and this behaviour have no place in the product.
Zero tolerance
No content, behaviour or attempt involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children is tolerated. There is no exception to this rule, no warning ladder and no “first time” leniency.
- Any image, text or link that sexualises a child.
- Contacting a child for sexual purposes, grooming, or attempting to arrange a meeting.
- Sharing, requesting, trading or pointing anyone towards child abuse material.
- Posts that hint at this content, joke about it, or normalise it.
The rule covers more than profile photos: conversations, profile text, user-suggested interests and messages sent to our support address all fall under it. A paid subscription, a token balance or an old account grants no exception.
The age limit and how it is enforced
Our minimum age is stated in the Terms of Service. What matters here is the mechanism behind it.
Date of birth is collected at sign-up
You enter your date of birth when you create an account. The field is not optional — registration does not complete without it.
The database enforces the limit
The age check is not only in the interface; it is a database constraint. Even if the app had a bug, or a request went straight to the API, a date of birth below the limit cannot be stored.
A declared age is not proof
Date of birth is self-declared, and we say so plainly. An age limit does not make false declarations impossible — moderation and reporting exist precisely for that gap.
Selfie verificationOn the way
Confirming a profile belongs to a real person via a selfie in a requested pose is planned. It is not in the product today; this page will be updated when it ships.
If you see something
Do not investigate, collect evidence or test the other person yourself. Report it and let us take it from there.
- 1
Report from inside the app
Reporting is one tap away in the menu at the top right of someone's profile. A short note about what you saw speeds up the review considerably.
- 2
Or write to us directly
You can email destek@ruhesi.net. The address is open to anyone, whether or not you use the app.
- 3
It enters the queue at the highest priority
The report enters the moderation queue at the highest priority; the queue is ordered by priority first and date second, so an older but lower-priority report cannot get ahead of it.
- 4
Stop engaging
Keeping a conversation going to “gather proof” puts you at risk and makes the review harder. Block the person; blocking works both ways, so they cannot see you either.
Enforcement and authorities
Every confirmed case ends the same way: a permanent ban and account closure. No warning, no temporary suspension, no route back to a new account. The content itself is removed.
Where we are legally required to, we report to the competent authorities and cooperate with their investigations. We do not name organisations on this page: which authority applies, and by what procedure, depends on the law governing the incident and the account — and naming a process we do not actually run would be misleading.
A closure under this policy is separate from the normal account deletion flow with its 30-day undo window. There is no undoing this one.
For parents
Ruh Eşi is not a dating app; it is built around finding friends through shared interests. Even so, as in any social product, people here message strangers. A few things worth knowing:
- The minimum age is in the Terms of Service — the first place to look if your child has an account.
- Exact location is never shared at any point: the displayed point sits inside a roughly 3 km cell, placed by a fixed offset derived from the account, and distance comes back as a range like “under 5 km”.
- Photos are not visible at all until they have passed moderation.
- Blocking is mutual — a blocked person cannot see the other side either.
- Accounts can be deleted from inside the app, with 30 days to change your mind.
If you believe your child holds an account below the age limit, write to destek@ruhesi.net and we will close it.
Common questions
Why does this page exist?
Apps with social features are expected to publish their policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation at a public, stable address. This is that address, and its link will not change.
What is the minimum age?
We deliberately do not put the number on this page. The Terms of Service are the single source — the same number sitting on two pages means one of them eventually goes stale and tells you something false.
What happens after I report someone?
The report enters the moderation queue at the highest priority and is reviewed by moderation. If it is confirmed, the account is permanently closed. Your report is not passed on to the person you reported.
Should I report even if I am not certain?
Yes. Judging the case is not your job. A good-faith report has no downside for you. Deliberate, repeated false reports are a separate violation.
Is the app available right now?
No — it is not in any store yet. These rules apply from the first day it is, and the reporting address destek@ruhesi.net already works.
Meet people who like what you like
Ruh Eşi is not a dating app. It exists so you can meet people to hike with, listen to the same band with, and talk about the same thing for hours — and your exact location is never shown on the map.
