Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 July 2026
The rules that apply when you use Ruh Eşi.
1. The service
Ruh Eşi is a friendship app that helps people meet through their answers to questions and their shared interests. It is not a dating or matchmaking service.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13. Where your country sets a higher age, that applies.
- The information you give must be accurate.
- One person may hold only one account.
- If your account was closed before, you may not open a new one.
3. Prohibited conduct
- Impersonating someone else or creating a fake profile
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, discrimination
- Sharing sexual or otherwise disturbing imagery
- Commercial messaging, spam, attempted fraud
- Sharing other users' personal information without permission
- Using the app with automated tools or attempting to bypass security measures
- Inappropriate contact with a minor
We may remove content that breaks these rules, suspend an account, or close it for a set period or indefinitely. For serious breaches an account may be closed without prior warning.
This clause applies together with the Community Guidelines, which form an integral part of these Terms.
4. Moderation decisions and appeals
When a rule is broken, these are the enforcement steps we can take:
- Removing content: the content found to break the rules is taken down. In serious cases it is not only the reported image that comes down — every photo on your profile can be removed from public view.
- Not showing your profile in suggestions: your profile is not shown in match suggestions or on the map. You can still talk to the people you are already connected to.
- Suspending the account: your open sessions end and you cannot sign in.
- Closing the account: an account can be closed for a set period or indefinitely.
Which one applies depends on how serious the violation was and whether it has happened before; not every case starts at the bottom.
Photo decisions are notified inside the app. For other enforcement you can ask for the reason behind the decision by writing to destek@ruhesi.net, and we will answer your request.
If your account is suspended or closed, or your photos are taken down, you receive an email setting out the reason and how to appeal. Other content removals do not trigger a separate notice; you can ask us for the reason at the support address.
If you disagree with the decision you can appeal: write to destek@ruhesi.net and say which account and which content the decision concerned. You can appeal a suspended or closed account too — you do not need to be able to sign in. We review the appeal within a reasonable time and write back with the outcome and the reason for it.
If your appeal succeeds the enforcement is lifted: the content goes back up, your profile is shown in suggestions again, the suspension ends, or the account is reopened. Both the original decision and the appeal are made by a person, against everything on record — no automated system makes an enforcement decision.
5. Your content
The photos you upload and the text you write remain yours. You give us a limited licence to display, store and technically process them within the app. That licence ends when you delete your account.
Photos are moderated before they go live. We may remove content that breaks the rules.
6. Reporting intellectual property infringement
If you believe content in the app infringes your copyright or another intellectual property right, tell us: write to destek@ruhesi.net with "Copyright notice" in the subject line.
For us to act on your notice it needs to include:
- The rights holder's name and contact details, and a statement if you are acting on their behalf
- A description of the work or the right you say is being infringed
- Where the content sits in the app — enough detail for us to find the profile, photo or message
- Your good-faith belief that this use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law
- A statement that the information you gave is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them
We review the notice, remove the content where we find the claim justified, and tell the user who uploaded it why it came down. If your notice is incomplete we may ask you to complete it.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed this way and you believe that was wrong, you can object: write to the same address with "Counter-notice" in the subject line. Say which content was removed, why the removal was wrong, and where your right to use the content comes from — it is your own work, you have a licence or permission, or the use is otherwise lawful.
We review the counter-notice and write back to both sides with the outcome. If we find the objection justified, the content goes back up.
Where several notices against the same user turn out to be justified — that is, the infringement repeats — we may suspend that account or close it for a set period or indefinitely.
7. Paid membership and tokens
- Subscriptions and tokens are purchased only through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Billing, renewal and cancellation follow the rules of the relevant store.
- You can cancel from your store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period.
- Refund requests go through the store; the refund policy is the store's policy.
- Profiles you reveal with tokens are permanent; they stay visible even after a subscription ends.
8. Safety notice
Verifying the people you meet through the app is your responsibility. A verification badge shows the photo belongs to a real person; it does not vouch for their intentions. We recommend meeting in busy public places and telling someone you trust about your plans.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. You have 30 days to change your mind; after that your personal data is permanently erased.
10. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for the outcome of communication or meetings between users. This clause does not limit your rights under consumer law.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and the relationship arising from your use of Ruh Eşi, are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye.
That choice does not take away the protection you have as a consumer. Rights you have under the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you habitually live remain yours, and this clause cannot be read as limiting them. If you live in the European Union, you keep the consumer protection of your own country.
Write to us first
If you have a problem or a complaint, send it to destek@ruhesi.net first. We reply within a reasonable time and try to sort it out with you. This is not a precondition to bringing a claim — we simply ask you to try it first, because most things are settled at this stage.
Consumers resident in Türkiye
If you live in Türkiye and have a dispute as a consumer, you can take it to a Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or to a Consumer Court, depending on the monetary value of the dispute. The threshold that decides which one is competent is revalued every year in line with the official revaluation rate, so we do not print a figure here; the current threshold is published by the Ministry of Trade. You can apply to the committee where you live or where the transaction took place.
Other disputes
For disputes other than consumer disputes, the courts and enforcement offices at the location of the company's registered office have jurisdiction: [Registered office — to be published once registration is complete].
The legal entity is still being registered, so the location of the registered office is not settled. Rather than invent one, we leave this open; once it is settled it goes both into this clause and onto the Legal notice page. Until then, use destek@ruhesi.net for any notice or correspondence.
Purchases made through the stores
As set out in clause 7, billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds for subscriptions and tokens follow the rules of Apple or Google. Those requests have to go to the relevant store first; if the store process gets you nowhere, write to us. This clause does not replace your contract with the store and does not affect the rights you have against it as a consumer.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. For significant changes we will notify you in the app and ask for your agreement again where needed.
