How it works

There are four steps, and none of them share your real location. Below we also show the maths behind each one — because calling an algorithm “smart” is easy, showing what it does is not.

    Answer questions

    Questions are grouped into categories. Only the core category is required at sign-up — four questions. You open the rest whenever you like, in any order. The more you answer, the sharper your matches get.

    Pick your interests

    From climbing to pottery, chess to freediving. If something is missing you can suggest it; suggestions join the pool after review.

  3. 3

    See your compatibility

    Compatibility is not one-sided. It is not enough that you like their answers — they have to like yours too. If you have dealbreakers, a mismatch there ends the match entirely.

  4. 4

    Meet

    See compatible people nearby, send a connection request, start talking. A single screen for seeing and accepting incoming requests is still on the way. On the free plan you can start one conversation a week; replying to a message you receive is never capped.

Three questions will not give you 100%

A rare interest tells you more

Location: your real position is never on the map

This is not a marketing line, it is a rule built into the schema. The detail is on the location privacy page.

Raw coordinates are not stored

Your location is rounded to three decimal places (about 110 metres) before it is saved. A database trigger enforces this — even if the app tried to write full precision by mistake, it would be corrected.

The point shown is offset

The map point sits inside a roughly 3 km cell, placed with a fixed offset derived from your account. Fixed matters: if it were random, someone querying you repeatedly could average the readings and recover your real position.

Distance comes back as a range

Something like “under 5 km”. A decimal distance would allow triangulation from a few points.

The density view leaves out sparse cellsOn the way

The density view drops any cell holding fewer than five people from the response. That threshold is defined for that view only, not as a general rule. The density view is empty for now; it will be switched on once it is ready.
