Community Guidelines
Ruh Eşi is for friendship. Not for dating, not for selling, not for advertising. The rules below apply to everyone the same way — how long you have been here, and whether you pay, makes no difference.
The short version
This is a place to meet people you can go hiking with, listen to the same band with, talk about the same thing for hours. The whole product is built around that: the questions and the compatibility score were designed for friendship.
- Not a dating app. Approaching someone romantically or sexually breaks the rules.
- Not a marketplace. No promoting products, services, channels, events or campaigns.
- Not a job or investment board. Income schemes and fundraising are out.
- The minimum age is stated in the Terms of Service; where your country sets a higher age, that applies.
Something is not allowed just because the list below does not name it in those exact words. We judge the behaviour itself.
What is not allowed
None of these have an acceptable version. “It was a joke” and “that is not how I meant it” are not defences.
Harassment, threats and hate speech
Persistent messages, insults, humiliation, intimidation. Targeting someone over race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. Threatening violence against a person or a group.
Sexual content and nudity
Nude or explicit photos, sexual messages, unsolicited sexual images. Offering or asking for sexual services. This applies to your profile and to private chats alike.
Contact with minors
Any sexual or romantic approach to a user who is not an adult. Any material involving child abuse. There is no ladder here: the account is closed permanently and the case is reported to the authorities.
Violence and illegal content
Content that praises, organises or celebrates violence. Encouraging self-harm. Trading in drugs, weapons, forged documents and the like.
Someone else's photo, fake accounts
Using another person's photo as your own, opening an account in someone else's name, impersonating a public figure or an organisation. One person, one account.
Spam, advertising and money
Bulk copy-paste messages, floods of external links, promoting products or services. Asking for money, gift cards or crypto. Investment schemes, earnings claims and “emergency” stories used to defraud people.
Other people's information
Sharing someone's address, phone number, workplace or accounts without their consent (doxxing). Passing on a message, screenshot or photo from a private conversation without permission.
Automation
Creating accounts, sending messages or scraping profiles with bots, scripts or automated tools. Using the service through anything other than the official app.
Photo rules
Photos are reviewed before they go live; a photo that is not approved is never shown to anyone. The review looks for this:
- Your face has to be visible. Shots that are blacked out, taken from far away, or where your face cannot be made out are not approved.
- The person in the photo has to be you. Not someone else, not a public figure, not an image pulled off the internet.
- No nudity or sexual content. Underwear and suggestive poses count.
- No photos of children. Not even your own — a child cannot appear in a profile photo.
- No contact details in the image: phone numbers, email addresses, usernames, QR codes, links.
A rejected photo does not close your account; only that photo stays unpublished. Uploading the same photo over and over is a violation in its own right.
What happens when a rule is broken
Two things decide the outcome: how serious the behaviour was, and whether it has happened before. Not every case starts at the bottom — a serious violation goes straight to a higher step.

These two steps are designed but have no effect today; the badge comes off once they are in place.
WarningOn the way
A notice naming the rule that was broken. Intended for a first, minor violation.
Temporary limitsOn the way
Not being able to upload photos or start new conversations for a while. Intended for a repeat after a warning.
Report it to us
Reporting and blocking sit in the menu at the top right of someone's profile. You pick one of the categories; you do not owe anyone an explanation, and the person you report is not notified.
- All reports land in a single queue, ordered first by priority and then by date. Reports about someone not being an adult and about self-harm come first; violence, harassment, hate speech and sexual content come right after.
- Every item in that queue is reviewed by a person. No automated system makes the call.
- You can block at the same time. Blocking works both ways — neither of you sees the other.
If someone's life is in danger, call your local emergency services first. We are not law enforcement and reports are not watched in real time — an emergency cannot wait in a queue.
Appealing a decision
If your account was suspended or permanently closed, or a piece of your content was removed, you can appeal. Write to destek@ruhesi.net.
- Writing from the email address on the account makes it faster.
- Say which account and which content the decision concerned.
- Add anything you think we did not have in front of us when we decided.
We take the appeal from the top, against everything on record, and write back with the outcome and the reason for it. If the decision is reversed, the enforcement is lifted.
You can appeal for a suspended account too — you do not need to be able to sign in. If you deleted the account yourself and the 30-day window has not closed, write anyway; within that window it can still be brought back.
